Bye and Hi

The year 2000 saw a dawn of new era for the erstwhile Loreto Convent School at Chembur. The management of Loreto Convent School was taken over by the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Apparition.

Sr. Josephine played a key role in this change over process.

The teachers, students and parents waited with anxiety to see the result of this change. During the super successful tenure of 10 years Sr. Josephine changed the school by taking it straight to the 21 century. Due to her dynamic and futuristic thinking she added a well furnished computer lab, an AV room and renewed science laboratories for the children’s curricular growth. She started a band, hockey and basketball coaching along with Taekwondo, dancing and singing classes to facilitate extra curricular growth. Computerization of office work was also done.

Her bold and open minded working style made her popular in the school community as well in neighboring community.

After a very valuable contribution of 10 years to Loreto Convent we had to say bye and farewell to Sister Josephine as she was transferred to Tuticorin to take up a new venture.

On the 10 and 11 April respectively Primary and secondary section organized a simple farewell programme for Sr. Josephine and also an occasion to welcome our new manager Sr. Geetha.

Children conducted a lovely prayer service, read out a special poem to appreciate and thank her for all that she had done to enhance the school’s image. They gave  bouquets as token of their love.

Sr. Josephine introduced Sr. Geetha, our new manager/leader. She was welcomed with flowers and prayers. Now all of us are waiting eagerly for implementing the new ideas and ideals of Sr. Geetha and making further progress.
